QELi, in partnership with Growth Coaching International (GCI), offers a suite of coaching programs to support you to build teaching and learning capability, build trust, develop leadership skills and ultimately improve students learning outcomes and well-being. The GCI coaching approach can be applied into a wide range of conversational contexts to create a culture of growth across a school, and to support school leaders with giving constructive feedback, working with teams, influencing others, strengthening communication skills, managing challenging conversations and enhancing questioning, listening and clarifying skills. The programs listed below are available for individuals. QELi also offers a range of whole-school coaching programs.

Introduction to Leadership Coaching

Introduction to Leadership Coaching is a three month program which explores GCI’s proven GROWTH model for having coaching conversations with individuals and teams. It is a very practical program, designed to introduce you to leadership coaching.

Program Structure: Pre-program preparation, face-to-faces sessions and in-school application

Suitable For: Teachers, teacher leaders, middle leaders, heads of departments, heads of special education services, heads of curriculum, heads of school, deputy, assistant and associate principals, principals, executive principals, system/sector leaders, and corporate services and school support staff. The program is intended for individuals who have had little or no experience with leadership coaching, as well as individuals who have undertaken extensive coach training. 

Next Steps: After successfully completing Introduction to Leadership Coaching, you may consider registering for the Coaching Accreditation Program Phase 1-3.

Peer Coaching: Conversations About Teaching Practice

Peer Coaching: Conversations About Teaching Practice is a three month program which brings the simplicity of the GROWTH model to classroom teachers working collaboratively to enhance professional practice and improve student outcomes

Program Structure: Pre-program preparation, face-to-faces sessions and in-school application

Suitable For: Pairs of teachers who are already working collaboratively together, including in-school coaches such as literacy coaches or mentors supporting early career teachers.

Coaching Accreditation Program Phases 1 to 3

The Coaching Accreditation Program Phases 1 to 3 is a highly practical and evidence-based three month program for teachers and educational leaders who are committed to building leadership skills to manage themselves, other others, towards improved performance and greater role satisfaction. You will explore typical coaching scenarios and be provided with a range of tools and techniques to address those in the coaching process, including those associated with leadership development, time management, performance management and coaching with emotional intelligence.

Program Structure: Pre-program preparation, face-to-faces sessions and in-school application

Suitable For: Teachers, teacher leaders, middle leaders, heads of departments, heads of special education services, heads of curriculum, heads of school, deputy, assistant and associate principals, principals, executive principals, system/sector leaders, and corporate services and school support staff. The program is intended for individuals who have had little or no experience with leadership coaching, as well as individuals who have undertaken extensive coach training.

Next Steps: The Program has an optional Phase 4 component – Coaching Accreditation Program Phase 4: GCI Standard Accreditation – which you are required to complete if you wish to seek GCI Coach Accreditation Status to be able to coach others using GCI coaching systems and materials in your context. Phase 4 includes six individual coaching sessions providing a skilled coaching experience, an opportunity to be coached on your coaching and supervision support for work with a real coaching client.

Solutions Focus Masterclass: Advanced Coaching

Solutions Focus Masterclass: Advanced Coaching is a one month program that refines coaching skills by integrating pragmatic and proven Solutions Focused methods – more intentionally – into coaching and all conversations. The Solutions Focused methodology will change the direction of your conversations, enabling your school to move easily to a creative and enabling mindset and make positive progress towards broader organisational goals.

The two-day advanced-skills workshop delves into Solutions Focus and the way in which it integrates with the GROWTH model and core coaching skills.

Program Structure: Pre-program preparation and face-to-faces sessions.

  • Leaders who want to understand and enhance their own response to change and challenge
  • Leaders who want to develop their teams to become more solutions focused, creative and empowered, particularly in times of organisational change
  • Coaches who wish to build their own coaching skills by integrating an intentional Solutions Focused approach

Program Prerequisite: You are required to have previously completed either Introduction to Leadership Coaching Program or Coaching Accreditation Program Phases 1 to 3.

Growing Effective Teams: Coaching Approaches for Team Success

Growing Effective Teams: Coaching Approaches for Team Success is a three month program designed to build the effectiveness of teams through a coaching approach. This Program is an advanced coaching skills program focused on equipping coaches and leaders to grow effective teams for whole team success. A team which thinks well together, relates well together, and learns well together, is a team which maintains itself in good working order and performs better to achieve agreed goals.

Program Structure: Pre-program preparation, face-to-faces sessions and an action learning project.

Program Prerequisite: You are required to have previously completed either Introduction to Leadership Coaching Program or Coaching Accreditation Program Phases 1 to 3.
