A Coaching Approach to Peer Observation Cohort 1 2019
The program is designed to:
- provide clarity about how to set up a peer coaching approach to enhance student learning
- develop skills in the use of the GROWTH model in peer coaching
- develop skills in giving and receiving feedback about teaching practice
- build knowledge and confidence to support teachers in analysing the observational data, setting professional learning goals, implementing the peer coaching process and sharing learning with colleagues.
In preparation for the program, you will be required to complete a series of questions and pre-readings.
Phase 1 - One-day Workshop
You will discuss and deconstruct the peer coaching process and consolidate learning, including demonstration for using observational evidence for a feedback and coaching conversation.
Phase 2 - In-school Application
You will implement what you have learnt in your school or context.
Phase 3 - One-day Workshop
You will collaboratively unpack data using a three stage feedback conversation model; set a professional development goal based on the feedback; and plan for your next steps.
