INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Instructional Leadership Program is built on evidence practices that Instructional Leaders demonstrate to be effective in leading and driving school improvement. Participants will learn about and implement evidence based Instructional Leadership practices through Action Research and workplace projects.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
By completing this program participants will have:
- lead learning through developing an inquiry approach that is evidence informed and ensures the necessary structures, processes and resources are in place to enable stakeholders to achieve great outcomes in a culture of sustained improvement
- reflected and reviewed their practice through the lens of clarity, shared accountability, quality assurance, instructional leadership and impact so key actions for individual and school improvement are developed and implemented
- built their understanding of how to build a culture focused on continuous improvement by linking the learning needs of students with the professional learning and practice of teachers
- unpacked, planned and implemented the Seven Levers of Instructional leadership in the key levers of Instructional (Data Driven Instruction, Instructional Planning, Observation and Feedback, Professional Development) and Culture (Student Culture, Staff Culture and Managing School leadership Teams)

- Nine month multi-modal program

- Reading and reflecting on key ‘think’ pieces
- Discussions and activities with your facilitator and program participants in the workshops
- Development of Leadership Challenge Action Project (TLCAP)
- Presentation of LCAP
- Aligned with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) Australian Professional Standards

▸ Leadership Challenge Action Project (LCAP) – identify a leadership project that will enable you to reflect on and grow your leadership skills and capability
▸ Explore leadership theories and models on Instructional Leadership
Practical Application 1
▸ Implementation of the LCAP
▸ Monthly online pulse checks on the project progress
▸ Monthly online learning challenges on specific topics
Workshop 2
▸ Continue working on Leadership Challenge Action Project (LCAP)
▸ Explore leadership theories and models on Instructional Leadership
Practical Application 2
▸ Continue implementation of the LCAP
▸ Prepare LCAP Poster Presentation
▸ Monthly online pulse checks on the project progress
