The North Queensland Region’s Middle Leadership Learning & Development 101 blended program is suitable for emerging Middle Leaders or those wishing to develop an understanding of the theory of leadership and who you are as a leader and learner. You will gain insights into your leadership style, learn leadership strategies that are transferable across emerging educational contexts and you will share your experiences with a network of
future leaders.
This program promotes a culture of willingness to support others in their learning and to know how to do this by providing expert input and coaching.
Program Structure:
Phase 1 – Program Preparation (online)
Phase 2 – Two-day face-to-face workshop
Phase 3 – Project and Coaching (online/ in school)
Phase 4 – Two-day face-to-face workshop
Phase 5 – Reflections on Learning (online)
Phase 6 – Recognition of Program Completion (online)

Phase 1 - Program Preparation
– Phase 1 email with pre-readings – 20 April 2021
– 360 GENOS Survey – 20 April to 18 May 2021
– 1hr telephone debrief to develop targeted leadership behaviour growth – May/June 2021
– Participant to organise School aligned Leadership Project – discussion with supervisor – May 2021
-1hr program overview webinar for Principals and System Leaders – 12 May 2021, 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Phase 2 - Two-day Workshop
– Explore leadership theories and models including Intro to Emotional Intelligence,
Leading Learning, Ethical Leadership, Effective Decision Making
– Engage with feedback from the 360-degree survey to develop a personalised leadership goal
– Planning for School aligned Leadership Project and leadership behaviour growth
Phase 3 - Project and Coaching
– School aligned Leadership Project – 10 June to 8 September 2021
– Project coaching session with a qualified QELi Coach (1hr) – July 2021
– Regular coaching support from supervisors – 10 June to 8 September 2021
– 1hr Coaching support webinar for supervisors – 18 May 2021, 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Phase 4 - Two-day Workshop
– Explore leadership theories and models including Intro to Feedback and Growth Mindset, Building Personal Resilience and Coaching and Mentoring
– Next steps in leadership

Phase 5 - Reflections on Learning
Participants submit your reflections on learning survey.
Phase 6 - Recognition of Program Completion
Participants receive their certificate of completion.
