Who Should Participate

Middle Leaders including HODs, Year Level Coordinators, Literacy/Numeracy/Pedagogy Coaches and experienced Teacher Leaders

Program Objectives

Through completion of the Leadership for Middle Leaders program, you will develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to:

  • Strengthen understanding of self and others
  • Become more skilled in building relationships and develop trust within your team
  • Gain commitment through the process of influence
  • Conduct reflective and professional conversations to support teachers to build their capability
  • Lead high performance teams to develop collective efficacy

About Your Facilitator – Gail Seay

Gail Seay is a Queensland-trained educator with certification and degrees from both Australia and the United States. She has taught in both state and private schools. She also has extensive experience in teaching and leading in international schools, serving expatriate communities in the Middle East and Asia.

Gail has over 30 years of experience in education. Most recently she has served as a Director of Teaching and Learning in a large non-profit, private school. She has also held a leadership position with the Near East South Asian Council of Overseas Schools, serving as the Chairperson of the Professional Development Advisory Committee (www.nesacenter.org). Her experience in educational leadership is extensive. Gail is an experienced presenter and coach.

Phase 1 - Program Preparation

– 360-degree GENOS (Leadership Feedback Report) survey – 7 to 25 Feb 2022
– 360-degree GENOS (Leadership Feedback Report) 1 hour debrief with expert QELi coach – 1 to 3 Mar 2022

Phase 2 - Two-day Workshop

– Explore leadership theories and models including:
–– Lead, Motivate & Inspire
–– Mindful Leadership
–– Building Trust
–– Leading with Values, Purpose & Vision

–– Leading Change
– Engage with feedback from your 360-degree survey to develop a personalised leadership goal
– Leadership Challenge Action Project (LCAP). You will identify a leadership project within your current role that will enable you to reflect on and grow your leadership capacity
– Establish a collegial network

Phase 3 - LCAP

To: 17 July 2022
Location: Online

– Implementation of your LCAP commences – 16 Mar 2022
– 1 hour coaching session with expert QELi coach – May 2022
– Connect with your collegial network buddy for reflection on progress – Monthly
– Online pulse check surveys – Monthly

Phase 4 - One-day Workshop
