North Lakes State College has a large, diverse population, spread across two campuses with a broad curriculum offering and high community engagement. Principal, Samantha Knowles, approached QELi soon after taking on the Executive Principal role in early 2015.
Samantha’s goals were to look at the leadership team’s current performance and create a clear action plan to ensure the continuous improvement of team and individual performance, together with enhanced teaching and learning outcomes. We worked with Sam to determine a program design that would best suit her needs.
The College leadership team commenced a 12-month program of learning and discovery that was delivered on campus, and included regular team performance ‘health checks’ or ‘pulse surveys’. After the first two workshops, participants found a range of sessions particularly valuable and shared their thoughts on the most useful elements of the program.
“The discovery of self and the influence it has on others. My understanding of others and how to deal with difficult situations.”
“Very practical strategies. The visual personality indicator was great – very simple but spoke to me.”
“The content and activities were new to me and very beneficial.”
“Presenter’s method, delivery, engagement and depth of knowledge.”
